Bronze group with brown patina with cloisonné enamels representing the poet Toba riding a mule on the road to the island of Hainan. Carnelian inlays, work from Japan Meiji period (1868-1912). Signed below. In very good condition, Slight discreet slit on the hat. Toba was a scholar, a calligrapher and a poet of Merit. He is represented here on the road to Hainan Island on a mule wearing a large hat on a road lined with bamboo under the snow ...
