He trained at the Roman Academy of San Luca under the guidance of the sculptors A.Tadolini and P.Tenerani and the painters T. Minardi, A.Capalti and F. Podesti. Having chosen the direction of landscape painting, he preferred themes related to the Roman countryside. From the 1970s he frequented the Roman artistic environment, sharing his studio in via Margutta with P. Joris. In 1870 an intense exhibition activity began, which lasted until 1900, at the Promoter of Genoa (Appointment in the villa, Ottobrata - game of bowls) and at the Exhibition of the Society of Amateurs and Cultors in Rome where I present some landscapes of Lazio. Also in Rome he exhibited with the International Art Association in 1871 and 1875 (Tor di Quinto). He participated in the Paris Salons in 1878, 1880, 1886 (Fight of bulls, Rome, National Gallery of Modern Art). He introduced his son Cesare to art
