"Bronze "
Bronze subject after Jean Joseph PERRAUD (1819-1876) entitled "the childhood of Bacchus".

Bacchus, perched on the left shoulder of the god Pan, pulls his ear and hits him with a stick. The grinning and laughing face of the playful god is touching realism. Perraud artist Francomtois excels in the treatment of anatomy.

PERRAUD Jean Joseph Monay (Jura) 1819-Paris 1876. Fine Arts of Lyon and Paris 1843. Grand Prix de Rome 1847. Universal Exhibition 1855. Produces the allegories of the Garnier opera, at the Louvre museum, at the château de fontainebleau. ..in Arras. His works can be found at the Musée du Luxembourg in Paris and at the Musée de Lons Le Saunier (Jura).

this copy is in good condition, present on a circular sour cherry marble base, some wear to the patina (right leg of the god Pan), accident to the sour cherry marble base.

This copy is signed PERRAUD 1859. Height of the bronze 61 cm + 4.5 cm for the base. A copy of this work is in the square of the Palais Galliera, Paris XVIe
