"Charles Guérin Portrait Of Catherine Gallier For Her Centenary"
Charles Guérin (Sens 1875-Paris 1931), pupil of Gustave Moreau. This portrait of Madame Catherine Gallier (June 9, 1796- March 29, 1897) was offered to her by the painter in her hundredth year, in 1895, oil on canvas, 21.5x16cm, signed and dated upper right, captioned on the stretcher in ink and dated. It is accompanied by two preparatory drawings in pencil, one 21x19 cm at sight monogrammed on the top left CG, the other 14x13cm at sight annotated in blue Catherine 96, framed together (49x31.5 cm) and presented at the Coligny gallery by Patrick Roger-Binet rue Chaptal in Paris in 1995 for the Charles Guérin exhibition.
