Limoges porcelain ball-shaped vase with floral decoration, entirely hand painted and enhanced with gold paste. This very beautiful vase comes from the Léon Sazerat factory (1831-1891). Léon Sazerat, born in Limoges on April 10, 1931, is the only Limousin porcelain maker who completed his apprenticeship in Sèvres. He moved to Limoges in 1852, his manufacture was noticed at the Universal Exhibition of 1855 and earned him an honorable mention. As a practitioner in love with research, he will simultaneously be interested in porcelain, earthenware and enamel. He also embarked on the manufacture of painted glazed earthenware which he exhibited in Paris in 1878. The quality of his production earned him a gold medal. In 1886, at the height of his art, he participated in the exhibition of Arts applied to industry in Limoges, he exhibited a set of 87 fantasy pieces in porcelain, earthenware and stoneware.
