A rectangular marble paperweight with octogonal inlaid micromosaic plate. The plaque depicting a spaniel in a landscape, the trunk os a tree in this left. Depictions of dogs in micromosaic were very popular as par of romantic genre, being symbolic of faithful love. Antonio Aguatti develop the theme at the beguinning of the 19th century and G.Barberi too. Italian work mid 19th century. Circa 1830.
