"Namakdan Lur Bakthiari Iran"
Iranian Namakdan wool circa 1960. Very good condition.The namakdan or namek donnh was used to transport salt. It was protected inside, to avoid the contact of salt with the wool. Namakdans can be used as wall decoration. Nomadic population of Lur strain, settled in the Chahar mahal, near Mount Zagros (western Iran). Techniques; Soumak and tied stitches.
