"A. Couturaud Oil Canvas (imberti Bordeaux) Painter Charentes / Barbizon Auguin Gaston Balande"
Alfred Couturaud (1864-1922) is a painter from the Charentes, engaged in orders very early as an abbot. He will devote himself completely to painting from 1889, will open a gallery in Pontaillac where he teaches painting. Among his students is Gaston Balande. Here, oil on canvas signed and dated 1900, probably a landscape of the Charentes, evoking the world of Barbizon and the symbolism of the time. The canvas on the back is stamped Imberti, a famous color merchant based in Bordeaux. The canvas is in good condition, a slight restoration, a slight scratch.
