Like Régis Bernard, whose works I presented yesterday, Jean Maugy is a real Lyonnais, regular exhibitor at the Salon in this city and elsewhere this painting was exhibited at the Société lyonnaise des Beaux-Arts, probably at the end of the XXth century.
In this neo-classical vein of the return to the antique where previously illustrated artists such Dupas, Aubry or Tamara de Lempicka, our artist shows us young naked women showing themselves antique pottery in a decoration of colonnades of the three orders in a seaside landscape.
