Object description :

"Long Taloir, Indian Bidri Sword Early 19th Century"
Superb and fine Indian sword "taloir", early XIXth century, with a very beautiful Bidri work handle (Bidri is both the name of the black ferrous alloy used as a base for gold, brass or silver inlay and this decorative technique name)

The quality and finesse of Bidri work (floral and geometric decorations) is here far superior to the ones usually found on this type of bladed weapon.

The quality of its curved blade is also stunning, with 3 successive grooves. The finesse and lightness of the blade, combined with its flexibility, make it a very beautiful piece for any bladed weapons collection.

Very good condition; a few spots of surface rust that I didn't want to clean to keep its original condition, the weapon having a very nice patina. The lam is however absolutely not pitted.
The handle tip is in worst condition than the handle, sign of its age and past use.

Sizes: 96cm Total length; Bidri handle 18 * 9cm; Maximum blade width 3mm !!!

No international shipping regards country's regulations.
