This magnificent and spectacular canvas, by Auguste Michel Nobillet, represents a park scene embellished with a mossy rococo-style fountain surrounded by digitalis and foliage. This naturalistic representation, very much in the spirit of Art Nouveau, transports us to a universe of undergrowth that is both fresh and mysterious. This artist was born in Vitré in 1850, died in 1914, he was a student of Vernier and Vayson, member of the society of artists from 1884 to 1914. he lived in the castle of Prémigon near Combourg, whose park bordered by ponds will often inspire him.
