French school after Fragonard "The lock" sepia wash 13 X 20 cm, mounted by a Marie-Louise in wash in a modern frame with beautiful gilding 27 X 34 cm. Circa 1800.Closer to the (larger) drawing in private collection reproduced in Pierre Cabanes's work on Fragonard than to the famous Louvre painting, this drawing, with a beautiful virtuosity, is perhaps preparatory to an engraving.
