"Leather Case With Miniature Signed Berny d'Ouvillé "
Green leather case with several gussets and bound sheets. The case opens with a gold clasp. Inside the case, an oval miniature on ivory is preserved. This represents a young woman in bust wearing a dress and lace scarf adorned with a brooch. The miniature is signed Berny. Claude Charles Berny d'Ouvillé (1771-1856) painter and miniaturist working in the first part of the 19thcentury. This ivory portrait is completed with a photograph of the same young woman. One of the compartments has a gold lock. This lock opens with a key hidden in the gold pen. This pen has a perpetual calendar and the citrine engraved with a number is unscrewed to put the key. Early 19th century. Restauration.
