"Suite Of Six Gothic Style Chairs, Cathedral File, Walnut, XIXth Epoque"
Very nice series of six Gothic style walnut chairs, 19th century manufacture. Magnificent work of sculpture executed with great mastery by the cabinetmaker. The lower part of the backs, themselves carved in fenestration, is openwork in a frieze of quatrefoils; the pediments are worked in "cathedral" patterns and are very finely openwork, finally a beautiful helical movement completed with ribbons of pearls on the front legs beautifully completes the whole. The feet are connected by a spacer. The woodwork is in good condition, the forest green cover fabric with small satin patterns is in very good condition and is of very good quality, note only one small mark on one of the seats (see last photo). The seat of these seats is very firm and does not require any repair, the former owners have re-strapped the entire series and hardly ever used it.
