François Lanfantwas born in Sierck (Moselle, France) in 1814 and died in 1892. He master was Ary Scheffer (1795-1858), important painter of genre scenes of the French Romantic school. François Lanfant exhibited in the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris between 1843 and 1866. The artist is famous for his paintings depicting the childhood theme, happy and mischievous.
To indicate his origine, he added "de Metz" (from Metz) after his name.
