Painting on fabric depicting a traveler contemplating a snowy landscape of mountains by the river.
This man, probably an itinerant monk, carries a bamboo walking stick, a woven hat and a blue cloth around his head and neck.
His feet are shod with tabi under waraji. These sturdy and inexpensive people's shoes were also appreciated by Buddhist monks as well as samurai who had to walk long distances.
Inscription and stamp on the right side of the work.
Painting on fabric of sight size: 26 x 24 cm.
Work sold under glass in a frame of external format: 43 x 39.5 cm.
