"Portrait Of A Young Equihennoise, Signed Jean Légeron"
Oil on mahogany panel depicting the portrait of a young woman from Equine in traditional dress. Boulogne sur Mer region at the end of the 19th century. Jean Légeron died on 04/23/1918, painter and owner of the Silver Cloche cabaret in Rouen. Painter, miniaturist, designer, and talented lithographer, Jean Légeron was better known as a caricaturist. He had founded with the late senator of Seine-Inferieure, Julien Goujon, a humorous publication: La Cloche d’Argent, in which he defended, with pencil and pen, patriotic ideas. He was part of the Society of Rouen Artists and the Societies of Veterans.
