The doubled metal is the 19th name of the silver metal.
A difference separates them, the doubled metal corresponds to a silver plating on copper, while the silver metal is on brass or white metal.
The turn and the handles of the tray are patterned with leaves and bunches of grapes.
The body of the tray is entirely chiseled with decorations, leaves, flowers, bunches of grapes, arabesques and others as well as a cartouche in the center with the initials “BB” under a crown.
The underside of the top rests on four feet. Note some slight de-silvering in the turn and the handles of the plate (see photos) and some scratches from use (mainly under the plate).
French work of the XIXth century, hallmarked "½ Silver trim" "SJ doublé".
