Object description :

"Nineteenth Bird Inkwell In Gilt Bronze And Porcelain"
Superb and rare rocail style inkwell in bronze and porcelain from the 19th century. It rests on an openwork and highly eventful bronze base, finely chiseled. On top of this base, rests at each end, the 2 inkwells in the shape of a pot pourris, closed by a cover whose socket is in the shape of a flower. In the center is a colorful bird on a trunk, all in porcelain. Behind, 2 sconces, in the form of a branch with foliage and porcelain flowers, each hold a candle. Quality and very decorative object in good condition, small accident to the bird's tail and an old repair to the trunk.
