This crucifixion is influenced by Flemish works. It is the work of a French romantic artist attracted to the artists of the Flemish school. Eugène Delacroix, arguably the best known, painted numerous paintings copying the works of Rubens and Van Dyck. Although it is not about him, the painter of our painting can be found in French painters around 1850.
