The cup is presented on an important black marble base from Belgium, circled in gilt bronze in its central part on a base worked in gilded bronze. Middle cut with the same decoration on each side. In very good condition of house (some traces of oxidation)

Main collaborator of Ferdinand Barbedienne (1810-1892), Louis Constant Sévin (1821-1888) is one of the most important sculptors and ornamentalist associated with the French bronze art industry. He ensures the influence and reputation of the bronze furniture of the Barbedienne house, nationally and internationally, especially during the Universal Exhibitions from 1855 to 1889. Some of his works are now kept in public collections.
