Rare and authentic Saihai "Command stick" from the end of the Edo Period (early 19th century), ideal for complementing armor.
It was only the high-ranking Busho (Warlords), who during feudal Japan used Saihai on the battlefields to signal their troops. It was also a symbol of power and social standing.

Kamon (Family emblem): "Naka kage korin kiri mon" (Paulownia Korin leaf). This Kamon symbolizes abundance and prosperity in a nutshell, "Luck". The Paulownia was deified because it would be the tree on which the Houo (Mythological sacred bird: the phoenix), had perched.
The thongs : They are made of paper and were blessed by a Buddhist priest, in order to make a talisman and thus protect its owner and his troops.
The cord : It is made of silk and passes through a hole in the handle. This allows the Saihai to be suspended from the Samurai armor when not in use.
