"German Wallone XVIIth Century"
Beautiful german wallone sword XVIIth century. The quality is better than the ones that we usually find. Very probably, this is an officer's sword.
Blade :War blabe, with 2 cutting edges. Two narrow fullers on each side. In these fullers, incriptions taht seem to be :
On one side :- P - E - T - R - O - U - S - -:and on th eother -:- - B - E - R - N - S - T - b -:- Lenght 83.5 cm
MOUNT :
Guard with 2 shells. The flat parts inside the shells are presents, the iron is worked with numerous of small round holes
The edge of the guard is chiseled. Guard branch is chiseled too, its finish where it joins the pommel in a monster's head fashion
Pommel in th eshape of a heart, with vegetal design chiseled.
Grip : Original tdouble wisted iron wire, turk's heads presents, made of iron wire.
