Superb and rare LULUA ceremonial cup from Congo in solid wood measuring 50 cm in total height and 30cm in diameter for the container the handle representing a character is of remarkable finesse The Luluwas are a population of Central Africa, especially present in the Democratic Republic Congo, in the south-central province of Kasai-Occidental, between the Kasai River in the west and the Kasai-Oriental border in the east. A few also live across the border in northeastern Angola. It is a sub-group and tribe of the Luba of Kasai alongside the Bakwa-luntu as well as the Baluba-lubilanji to whom they are very close, but with whom they were in conflict at the time of independence ( 1959-1961).
