About the engravers Varin :
Member of a family with three childred, Amédée Varin became an engraver along with each one of his siblings. In 1847, he started to engrave paintings from the famous Gallery Goupil along with his three brothers and soon developped his own authentic technique that distinguished him, referred to as the "style Varin". He received several medals for his works. The french museum "Musée d'Orbigny Bernon" in the city La Rochelle currently holds over 20 of his engravings.
