"Edgar Brandt & Louis Katoma Art Deco Floor Lamp 1925"
Exceptional parquet floor lamp from the Art Deco period circa 1925 made in wrought iron as part of a collaboration between Edgar Brandt and Louis Katoma (signed L.KATOMA hollow on a post). Brandt model initially listed on Arnet and recently sold at Artcurial with a more refined decor (see reference). The model presented here is more richly decorated thus explaining the association and the efficiency of these two great ironworkers, like a very beautiful pedestal table made by this same artistic association sold for $ 25,000 at Sotheby's (see document). Our room has a thick hammered wrought iron structure with a faceted shaft made up of four beams decorated with an openwork foliage decoration punctuated with geometric patterns; stylized flowers and original windings on the base. The whole is surmounted by a flowered basket supporting a basin in orange marmoreal glass paste signed Muller Frères in Lunéville. Good general and electrical condition, dimensions: 1.73 m high X 42 cm wide.
