"Watercolor Landscape By Gustave Fraipont"
This beautiful framed watercolor dates from the end of the 19th century, it is signed and dated by Gustave FRAIPONT in 1883. This watercolor represents an animated view of the village of Nessanvaux in Belgium and its river the "Ruisseau du fond des trois bois". The watercolor is elegantly embellished with a marquise which has a task below the signature. The frame is in its used condition, it has some accidents. Gustave FRAIPONT was born in Brussels in 1849, a 19th century painter, he is also active in France. Genre painter, animated landscape, landscapes, watercolorist, engraver, illustrator, and poster artist. He was a pupil of Henri Hendrick and Henri de Hem. I settled in Paris, he exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1882 and then in 1896. He was promoted Knight of the Legion of Honor in 1906.
