Rare "Soleil" system table created in 1870 by E. Chouanard. Tilting top, cruciform central foot with recessed castors adjustable in height using a rack. The tray has a hinged edge so you can put down sheets or books when tilted. Side zipper. Bronze fixing and rack mechanism. Very good general condition. E. Chouanard is the engineer and sole concessionaire for this "Soleil" table system. Brass plaque on the barrel: "Guarantee mark - Table Soleil - Patented - Paris".
