These elegant covered vases consist of a square marble base with a chamfered bronze counter-pedestal.The molded pedestal has crossed links and ends in a crown to carry the body of the vase. The elongated bulbous body is gripped by two beautiful handles in plant motifs and double volutes. The cover, the socket of which is a bay, takes up the patterns of the base of the body of these vases. A very beautiful Cipolin marble in almond greens has been elegantly cut to reveal concentric patterns bringing an additional aesthetic to the beautiful proportions of Louis XIV spirit of these cassolettes, moreover cipolla means in Italian "veined like an onion". . It is a work of Maison Thiebault et Fumières.
