"Japanese Stirrups Edo Period "abumis""
Pair of samurai stirrups, called in Japanese "Abumis" mid-Edo period (18th). They are in lacquered steel, the lacquer is in very good condition, with just a few chips on the edges. Mother-of-pearl glitter lacquer in green tones called "Nashi-ji" (pear flesh) The inside of the stirrups is lacquered in vermilion red. On the outer part is gold lacquered the Mon (coat of arms) of the Daimyo (lords) WATANABE of MIkawa who were descendants of the famous Minamoto family, and resided in 1661 in Hataka, Izumi province. Beautiful objects of samurai culture, in good condition.
