Large sculpture by Emile Joseph Nestor Carlier (Cambrai 1849 - Paris 1927) student of the Academies of Cambrai and Valenciennes then of Jouffroy, Cavalier and Chapu at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He made his debut at the Salon in 1875, Gold Medal at the Universal Exhibition of 1889, Medal of Honor in Antwerp and Amsterdam. His work includes allegories, genre scenes and bronze busts.
