Uranie Alphonsine Colin-Libour (1831-1916) Charming oil on panel representing a wash house on the banks of the Seine 20 kilometers from Port-Marly (Inscription on the panel) Signature lower left “Colin Libour” and dated “1866”. Good condition, a little cleaning to be expected. dimensions: of the panel: 11.5 x 22 cm with frame: 16 x 27 cm Pupil of François Bonvin, Charles Müller and Sophie Rude. She exhibited at the Salon from 1861. She painted a lot of the misery and human distress of modest people from the peasant and working-class worlds with accuracy and clarity of line.
