Emile Othon-Friesz (1879 - 1948) academic nude - Charcoal signed lower right Signature stamp Size / Without frame: 65 x 40cm Biography: First influenced by the Impressionists, then by Vincet Van Gogh and Paul Gauguin, some -one of his paintings are exhibited at the 1905 autumn salon, with works by Henri Matisse, Albert Marquet, Henri Mangin. The flat areas of dazzling colors and the nervousness of the drawing give the viewer the sensation of entering a "cage of wild animals". It is the beginning of fauvism, of which he will become one of the representatives.
