"Carved Red Lacquer Cabinet"
Very refined and rare by the quality of the carving of the red lacquer and decorated on all sides with a floral decoration. It includes 2 doors opening onto 6 small drawers and a large front drawer all sculpted. The interior of the doors represents 2 mythical animals a dragon and a kirin within stylized clouds. The doors as well as the top of the cabinet are decorated with polychrome enamel plaques in the style of Satsuma decorations. The fittings and hinges are also chiseled silver alloy. The cabinet rests on a 4-legged support, also lacquered and sculpted. Origin: Japan. Meiji period late 19th century. Dimensions with stand: L33xP20xH43cm. Cabinet dimensions: L30.5xP17.5xH30cm
