J. Anoll: “Catalan landscape” oil on canvas 61 X 50 cm, recently cleaned and dressed in a very beautiful frame with an inverted slope 84 X 72 cm with worn silver leaf on a restored red plate.
San Pedro de Vilamajor (currently in Catalan: Sant Pere de Vilamajor) is a charming town in Catalonia.
She is represented here around 1925/1930 by a painter on whom I found nothing: J. ANOLL whose mastery is nevertheless obvious and the superb chromatic palette, close to that of his contemporary Roerich, giving phantasmagorical allures to this little one. village bordered by fields of pumpkins.
