History: Jean Austruy, born in Castres in 1910 - 2012
Graduated from the School of Decorative Arts and Fine Arts in Paris, he moved to Saint-Marcellin in Isère, and for nine years taught drawing in this city and at the School of Fine Arts and Industrial Arts in Grenoble.
At the same time, he began to work in ceramics first in his garage, then in a workshop he had built in 1947 in order to increase his production, as demand was high after the war.
His wife Jacqueline, also a Fine Arts graduate, helps with his production.
They hire people, and care about the quality of their production.
In 1966, the family business grew with their son Yves who helped develop production, while remaining true to their standards.
Jean Austruy retired in 1990, and devoted himself to his passion: animal sculpture in ceramic or bronze.
