19th Century Terracotta Cherub With Fountain

Terracotta sculpture in the round depicting a cherub sitting on a rock pouring water from an antique urn in a decor of aquatic plants. Louis XVI base with grooves on a row of alternating sausages and pearls. Illegible signature on the back. Chubby and cheeky cherub to be compared to the cherubs of François Boucher or François Duquesnoy. Sculpture in very good condition, no lack. Very nice original patina with some wear. Height 40 cm, length 37 cm, width 22 cm.
