FRANCE, XIXth century. Carved and openwork coconut with a decoration of exotic scenes. On the belly, figures and birds evolve between palm trees and small houses. The cover as well as the lower and upper parts of the body are decorated with friezes of foliage. The finely crafted coconut rests on a wooden and metal base and opens at the top by a hinged lid surrounded by metal.
