Boris Pastoukhoff (1894-1974) was born in Kiev (city of imperial Russia today capital of Ukraine) where he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts.
After the revolution of 1917, he fled Russia and settled first in Yugoslavia and then in Paris in 1931.
He exhibits regularly at the Salon des Tuileries, Salon d'Automne and in several private galleries.
He is particularly known for his paintings of bouquets of flowers and his portraits of the worldly elite.
He died in London in 1974.
His works are present in private and public collections around the world, such as the Brooklyn Museum of Fine Arts, the Museum of Modern Art in Madrid, Hyssop Museum and Columbia Museum of Art. The luxury Lancaster Hotel in Paris has many paintings by this artist.
