These are carried out in the former province of Huzen on the island of Kyushu.
These porcelains, famous all over the world, were imported by boat and loaded from the Port of Imari, hence their name.
This pair of large dishes 47 cm in diameter, with polylobed edges has a very free decoration of flowering plum trees, peonies and crabs.
The reverse is decorated with a phoenix or Hôô called with outstretched wings, a messenger of peace and good omens.
The exceptional side of these Imari is that they are a pair which is extremely rare.
