Old Kouba Carpet, Caucasus, 83 Cm X 133 Cm, Wool On Wool, Early 20th Century

Carpet from the Caucasus, Kouba, from the beginning of the 20th century in good condition measuring 83 cm wide by 133 cm long.
This very beautiful carpet, of a beautiful delicacy, 4 mm, in wool on wool, is bordered in its two lengths by blue which is typical of Kouba.
The decoration is quite sober and elegant, a motif of tree of life and stylized flowers repeated on a midnight blue field.
The borders with decorations of carnations and stylized flowers, are fine and delicate, these bands are separated from each other by striped lines in red and almond green. Carpets prior to 1925 are defined in five groups: Kazakhs, Karabakh or Sjirvan, Kuba (Kouba) and Dagestani.
Carpets from the Karabakh region often have soft patterns and are reminiscent of Persian rugs.
Apart from this classification, there are also Gandja, Silé and Verni rugs.
These rugs are distinguished by their very varied and imaginative geometric patterns.
We sometimes find, in stylized form, animal figures or geometric and architectural patterns.
This rug has been professionally cleaned and environmentally friendly.
