"Paul Renotte, Abstraction, Belgium (1906-1966)"
Paul Renotte, Abstraction, Belgium (1906-1966) Synthetic painting on baked sheet steel, framed, signed and dated (1965 top left). Paul Renotte is both an artist but also a politician, namely alderman in charge of Fine Arts in the city of Liège. He was a complete artist, at the same time painter, sculptor but also an experimenter of modern artistic techniques. With regard to the latter area, the result was a series of rare paintings, from 1963 on, executed using synthetic colors on baked sheet metal and which constitute a real plastic discovery. The work offered for sale is part of this short experimental series, the artist disappearing prematurely in 1966.
