CALVES (Georges Calvès 1848-1923) Impressionist style composition depicting a pastoral scene with turkeys in a landscape on the edge of the coast, work presented in an authentic Napoleon III frame in gilded wood & black lacquer. Dimensions: 73 cm X 63 cm Georges Calves (1848-1923) French painter of genre, animal, landscape and watercolorist, student of Daubigny, Boulanger and Guillaumet, he started at the salon in 1870 and for a few years exhibited mainly watercolors there . He then devoted himself to oil painting and exhibited regularly at the Salon des Artistes Français. Works preserved in the museums of Rouen, Amiens, Clamecy and Sète.
