"The flight of the ducks, Ain"
Oil on canvas,
Dedicated "to Mr. Sudiff ...?" (not deciphered) and signed lower right,
Beautiful work of the painter Louis René Boulanger which represents a view of a river, of a pond certainly near Bugey in the Ain where the artist liked to represent his landscapes.
Our painting seems to be a preparatory study for a ceiling or a decoration given that the circumference of the canvas and its corners are gilded in the shape of its original frame.
Our painting is similar to the work of Louis René Boulanger "The flight of the canards" which went on sale at Conan Lyon, on December 3, 2017.
Son of the painter Louis Boulanger, Louis René Boulanger specializes in landscapes.
A pupil of Louis François Français and Edmond Yon, Louis-René Boulnager studied at the National School of Fine Arts. He moved to Bourg-en-Bresse in 1884. He then stayed for several years in Belley where he decorated the dining room of the Hotel Pernollet, the wedding lounge at the Hôtel de Ville and the Caisse d'épargne and teaches drawing at home.
His paintings of great freshness and sweetness are hailed by critics and rewarded during his participation in the various Salons. He ended his career as curator of the Bourg-en-Bresse Museum. His works are now kept in many French museums.
Dimensions: 46 x 47 cm unframed 57.5 and x 59 cm with its beautiful original solid wood frame.
