"Enamelled Earthenware Plate"
Small enamelled earthenware dish adorned with a portrait of a man in armor, made in the second half of the 19th century by Fanny Mérigot, painter. Born in Sèvres, she was a pupil of Madame Marie Nicolas. In 1875, she participated in the Salon des Refusés in the Painting and Watercolor category with a work entitled "Young Italian". In 1876, she participated in the Exhibition of the Central Union of Fine Arts Applied to Industry in the ceramic category by presenting earthenware dishes and obtained an honorable mention. Finally, in 1880, she participated in the Salon des Artistes Français in 1880 under her wife name Chazal in the Painting category with a work entitled "Portrait of a young Neapolitan"
