"Standing Archer, Bronze, 1959 - Ernest Heylens"
Standing archer, bronze covered with a brown patina mounted on a black marble plinth, Ernest Heylens (1908-1976), 1959, dated and signed on the terrace. Shard at the base as well as disappearance of two cartels. Base dimensions: H. 8 x L. 14 x D. 12 cm; figure: H. 56 x L. 29 x D. 11.5 cm. Ernest Heylens (Bruxeles 1908-1976), Belgian sculptor. Student at the Academy of Brussels, after drawing studies, he obtained the 1st Prize for modeling under the direction of L. Hofmann. Takes part in the 49th Ghent Quadrennial Salon (1954) with Hair, direct carving in blue stone. Takes part in open-air exhibitions at the Maison d'Erasme in Anderlecht.
