Signed on the top marble. 33cm - Width. 66.5 cm - Prof. 20.5 cm J. de Roncourt is a sculptor whose works sometimes appear in sales. His first name is not known but he became Jean, nor his date of birth and death. His works date from the first half of the twentieth century. Who is J. de Roncourt, this enigmatic sculptor who produced between 1920 and 1940 sculptures in cast metal of the spelter type (lead-tin-antimony alloy) representing human figures, often a man carrying out a test of strength or in primitive hunting position. This unknown artist in history, however recent, left us the proofs of his talent with realistic sculptures of very good quality thus ensuring his notoriety.
