On the back is the stamp which certifies its authenticity. ✨Vittorio Petrella Da Bologna (Bologna, November 4, 1886 - Luserna San Giovanni, Turin, December 1, 1951) was an Italian painter, designer and illustrator of Modernism. Biography Vittorio Petrella of Bologna was born in Bologna on September 4, 1886. He is considered a representative of Futurism, but he also learned and worked with other styles of painting. His designs ranged from (Italian) landscapes, to flowers, to fantastic figures and patterns. In Turin, during his first exhibition, one of his oils was bought by Vittorio Emanuele III and two of his large floral panels go to the Civic Museum in Turin. He has exhibited in Turin, Milan, London, New York, Venice and other cities. He immediately obtained recognition and prizes in Bologna (Landscape Exhibition), Florence (Palazzo Pitti). Takes part in the Venice Biennials from 1926 to 1948. It is particularly sought after for preferably nocturnal landscapes. Also active in drawing and lithography. Emilio Zanzi was writing about Petrella at that time, he was "still undecided between Futurism, Impressionism and Cubism". Lucio Ridenti compared him to Henri Matisse in 1945. 1950 and 1974 honor the Fogliato Petrella art gallery in Turin with a retrospective He died at the hotel "Villa Holland" in Luserna San Giovanni, Turin, on November 4, 1886.
