Hosotte Signed Morvan Vézelay Massive Snow Landscape Watercolor XX Rt207

Beautiful watercolor on paper, framed, under glass, very possibly representing the surroundings of Vézelay in the Morvan massif.
The artist combines different techniques: pencil lines, fluid and vaporous touch in places, dry in others, he also lets appear the white of the paper to very subtly suggest snow on the heights.

This is Georges Hosotte, born in 1936 in Paris. Painter of landscapes, animated landscapes, watercolorist. He says he is self-taught.
He prefers the watercolor technique to make the poetry fluid in the landscapes of the water's edge.

Listed in the Bénézit.
Epoque; second part of the 20th century. Dated: 1965.
Condition: good general condition, the paper has slightly yellowed, a few rare small rednesses, a few small spots on the mat. Wear of use on the rod. Dimensions with frame: 61 x 53 cm.
