The refined and elegant mirror, made in Turin (Italy)towards the middle of the eighteenth century, with original mercury glass, has a richly carved and gilded wooden frame.
The frame that surrounds the entire rectangular mirror with typical baroque and rocaille motifs (called panicles) has an important and rich perforated top in which the ornaments are sculpted with phytomorphic and floral decorations. The top, very slender upwards, lightens the richness of the ornaments making the whole graceful and well balanced.
On the lower side the mirror rests on feet also rich in carving and floral decorations. The volutes and the movement of the elaborate architecture of this mirror make it a particularly valuable object, distinguished by a beautiful gilding from which emerges the warmth of the red colour of the “bolo”.
The mirror, very decorative and of great scenic effect, is suitable to be exposed over a chest of drawers or a console of entrances, studios and lounges or in a bedroom.Very beautiful together with antique furniture, can certainly make a sign of elegance and sophistication if inserted in modern contexts.
